Design Narrative

  • McMurray Stern is a B2B specialty contractor that offers static and automated storage and retrieval systems. They maximize storage in various industries, including public safety, education, healthcare, grocery, and other markets.

  • McMurray Stern was dealing with an outdated website, branding, and overall marketing strategy. They needed a brand refresh to show they were just as capable and innovative as their competitors.

 The Process

  • McMurray Stern’s current marketing strategy was sending the wrong message to businesses. My team crafted a new marketing strategy to reset their brand presence in the market, making them a strong competitor and enticing businesses to reach out. The goal was to showcase McMurray Stern’s innovation and new automated products while still marketing static legacy storage solutions they had provided since 1980. We walked their team through an in-depth discovery process, helping them define their audience and discover next steps to position the brand for growth.

  • I directed my team towards a comprehensive digital and offline marketing approach to reach McMurray Stern’s wide targeted audience where they were - across multiple platforms. A full visual identity package, website, content, customer journey, strategy, and new design would be used to reach businesses in search of innovative storage solutions.

  • Our team condensed their 150-page website to a clearly defined, niched-down 50-page, newly designed website. All current PDF brochures were converted into catalog pages to capture leads for sales personnel to reach out to. We integrated HubSpot and other specialty plugins to improve intake and tracking processes. In terms of their new look, we created an all-new visual identity, including new logo designs, business cards, print designs, and more. Our updated content strategy walked customers through a new journey with clear messaging, a fresh voice, and an innovative look that made them stand out in the industry.
